Carrie-
I watched your video on your homepage and my 4 year old daughter, Madison, asked to watch along with me. She's a Shriners patient at Springfield too. While watching the video (and every other video clip on your website, since she wanted to watch more), she asked if you were collecting can tabs for Shriners. I told her that you must be! Thank you for telling your story.

I just learned about you this morning. I was going through some old papers and found a letter from the Springfield Shriners Hospital thanking my father for suggesting that some friends make a memorial gift to the hospital in memory of my sister Dorotha Ann Rice who was killed in the Worcester Tornado on June 9, 1953. While looking over their web site I came across your name and watched your video. I was really moved by the smile on your beautiful face as you worked to triumph over your tragedy. I am contemplating adding to my sisters memorial fund in hopes of helping other children follow in your footsteps. Thank you for showing the way. I am curious if you are related to a Carl Holmstrom who worked at the Heald Machine Company in Worcester with my father around 1950 to 1960 ?
If you are interested in another success story I would recommend you Google my good friend Kevin Saunders, who has learned how to tell his story from a wheel chair.
God bless you and your work of inspiring others... Fred Rice

Carrie - Im so proud of you. I can remember the first season I met you. You were in your chair, and we sat and talked about everything... as you got better, and got your new legs, we started to play trunk soccer all the time. =) One of my favorite memories was watching you... at the end of that VERY SAME SEASON powering down the concourse in a race with my Dad. <3 I will never, ever forget that day. You are such an inspriation to me, and everyone you meet. Never, ever give up that gift... I love you so much girly, and I can't wait to see your graduation video!!! <3 <3 <3 You go girl! ;) Love, Aoife oxoxoxox
